Greetings from the Jamboree Chief
Even though there is still snow and winter in Norway the first week of July will be here before you know it! That week scouts from many countries and from all over Norway will gather for a week filled with great experiences at Utopia. Many have already started doing the pre-jamboree exercises in order to receive the "green entrance ticket" to Utopia.
I am sure many of you are eagerly waiting to get more details about the programme activities, the jamboree song, the meals menu and so on. In this information brochure you'll find general information about the jamboree and the programme. However, to find answers to some of your questions you will have to wait until the jamboree, because you are going to take part in creating Utopia! We will come together for a week filled with new adventures, and return back home with good jamboree memories.
During Norway 's most exhilarating experiment you will be able to make many new experiences. One of the experiments is the activity where each group is in charge of one part of the programme. Utopia will demonstrate how many collective resources can be found in the scouting and guiding movement and seeks to bring out the creativity and enthusiasm of each and every participant.
At Utopia the focus will be on sharing what you have got and on protecting the environment, and the troops and patrols should be active participants in creating the contents of the jamboree. In the coming months many new and exciting sides of Utopia will take shape and you'll find updated information at www.landsleir.no.
